Production blog: Hopefully next time

Image
Hi everyone! It’s Natalie, and in today’s blog, we are going to be discussing what my group and I have been trying to do when trying to gather specific stuff for our music video. Now we are at the point where we would like to start getting the props, we feel it is necessary. We should have in the video. As well as incorporating make up styles. We have gone over the fact that we would like to incorporate a lot of dark features of make up. Like a dark red lipstick and eyeliner to show the kind of person in the main character is and glitter too, so have some kind of symbolic meaning. Also as well we would love her to have a red lipstick that gives a mysterious and beautiful feel to it. And towards the props, we are trying to gather as much as we can. As in the essentials necessary, would have to be the bags of the stolen money. As well as the handcuffs we will be putting all the boyfriend when he gets arrested. Other props, such as the fake money, spilling out of the bags, and the props

Production Blog: So what's next?

Image
Hi everyone, it's Natalie! So, to start off from the last blog my group and we have come to some end decisions for the scenes and script with my group. For the dialogue we have decided to only incorporate pausing the video for the main girl to have a conversation with the police. It will maybe only take about 15-20 seconds as she'll just say " he's here" and we continue the song from there. And from there the police officer will exit her boyfriend to take him to jail and the scene ends from there. Now the were able to come to terms for the ending scene we will want to use. Being that right after the police seen we will have the main character be driving in a car lip-syncing the song matching the lyrics. That are basically all following the storyline the song saying that she has finally left her boyfriend and it now driving away in the getaway car and will leave him for good. The main character will be singing it will a lot of emotion as well so we can really ge

Production Blog: How's the group work?

Image
Hi everyone, it's Natalie! Now here we are and we are becoming more and more focused on the surrounding factors about the script. Like the specific little things we want to incorporate in the music video for a little bit of dialogue. We were thinking of maybe incorporating a voice over for small sections of the music video so we can create a more in-depth story line for the music video. Also making plans of the specific actions we want to incorporate in the music video. Like which way we want to place the characters where we will be filming to make a more detailed set. As well as the arrest scene, we want to figure out how we can use what we have to make the scene more realistic. As we already know we are going to incorporate a short dialogue scene beforehand as the main character is going to have a "conversation" with the police. Though we are not sure how we are going to write up that scene to execute the frustration that the main girl is feeling on the call by extend

Production Blog: Figuring out the steps

Image
Hi everyone, it's Natalie! It's been a while since I did a production blog about and now I am doing one surrounding my upcoming project, a music video. My group and I have started to try and see as to where we might be able to gather and get certain props and other things we might need for the video. But, towards the filing process all of us can agree it has been a little difficult in figuring out what concepts we want the audience to perceive after watching the video, the exact shots and angles we want to incorporate. There are ideas that we have been throwing but, actually establishing them has been something where it's been a bit complicated. Also, when trying to figure out the exact locations on where to shoot parts of the video have been a bit complex as well. For instance for the parts we want to filmed outside, what time of day would be best for lighting or weather. Or in those locations are we even allowed to film there. It all consists of a lot of factors. But, I

Storyboard for my Music Video

Image
Hi everyone, this is the story board for the upcoming music video my group and I will partake in creating. The scenes start as two people shown a women and man in a motel bar that seem to be in true love. And continuing on while  the women will be seen using her phone and receiving a message, in which will pop on the screen as she later scurries to the bathroom. The music stops as she's walking out instead of using the bathroom, she uses an "old phone" and tells the person on the other end that "he's in here". After that the music continues and the screen slowly fades to a flashback. In the flashback we can see the original guy at a restaurant with another women. While the women is in the corner of the booth hiding in plain sight seeing it all unfold.  Then we are at the jump back to the original present time the music video takes place in, we see the women jump into a car and turning on the radio. There's a pan shot of her driving off to to the distance.

Research blog: Music Video Conventions

Image
When researching and analyzing the different music videos in relation to our genre of music there are various convections that stood out. As mentioned the song all of us came up with to use for this project is Getaway car by Taylor Swift. And the genre is pop/singer-songwriter. In which music videos from songs such as Drivers license and Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo. Give us a good insight into how in that category the specific usages of breaking the forth wall in the music videos. Using A LOT of tracking and over the shoulder shots as well. In this specific genre of music we need to be drawn to the artist or what the artist is explaining the emotions of. Almost if not every lyric should be able to match part of the song, to get the visual representation. It can be as simple as a prop that correlates to the main part of the song, a specific costume that shows value to the character or the makeup that can really capture the emotion the person is trying to showcase. With all of those facto

Planning for my Music Video

Image
When beginning this process of creating the music video, the immediate thought was to do a song by Taylor Swift. This is because all of us enjoy her music and believe she would be the perfect match considering the wide spectrum of genres her music has. The song Getaway Car immediately came into someones mind and we all agreed that it would be perfect. Since the song is very upbeat, catchy and semi-popular, we figured that it would be easy to portray the storyline in our own way for this assignment. When finding the section of the song we would want to use, the decision came down to two options. Finally, however, we all agreed to one and began to picture what we wanted to do. The first thought that came to mind was to act out specifically what was being said in the song. Meaning we would need props such as a phone, fake money, keys, and a bag. These would all help the audience to understand what was happening. Given the title of the song, it also became prevalent that we needed a car.

Group Blog: Music Video

Hi guys, it's Natalie! For today's blog I'm going to be talking about the music video that I will be working on and I will be working with Reagan Haskell and Hayley Maier. Even though I have been friends with both of them beforehand, when first hearing about the music video project so many ideas came to my head of what I could maybe do. And I thought of using a Taylor swift song immediately. And when I thought of Taylor swift they were the first two people who came to mind. All of us can say we have undeniable love for her.  So when it came for us to choose a song we chose Getaway Car- By Taylor Swift. Now when choosing this song it was obviously already one of our favorites. But, with it being one of our favorites we know what the song is basically all about and we already came up with plenty of ideas. So towards why all of us agreed to choose it, mainly focuses it on how we know the song well enough to already have a plan with what we want to do. With us already knowing

Intro Blog: Music Video

Hi, my name is Natalie Obando. I am a student at Fort Lauderdale High and I'm currently in the 11th grade. I am so excited to be working on the music video and working with my group. And as of right now I can say in my life I am at the point where I have come to love and enjoy everything my life has to offer. I am a firm believer in that  everything happens for a reason. And though there has most DEFINITELY been moments where I feel as if some things did not need to happen. They still did and they helped shape me into the person I am today. But, besides that I can say I'm a really big advocate for nature and marine life as those are things I truly find fascinating. So I am very careful and interested about our world. There are so many little things that are just so interesting. I'm shocked to know how everything works. Talking about marine life leads to me and my love for the Ocean. Originally being from Miami and growing up in California I developed a strong love for the
